Come meet our Ojibwe Elders Grandmother Pat and Grandmother Isabelle - Grandmother Paulette and Kokum Ma-Nee- for National Affirming PIE Day and International Pi Day Movie: Life of Pi
Sharing Circle : What Two Spirit means traditionally in our culture, how we fit into the Medicine Wheel and how it ALL fits into the LGBTQ community.

There will be light refreshments, veggie trays and of course Pie. Remember that we have gone green – so bring your Feast Bundles plates, glasses, cutlery, napkins, serving spoon etc. and plan to take them home with you at the end of the evening.

Why PIE? Public; Intentional; Explicit= the standard for an affirming welcome of LGBTQIA+ and Two Spirit people. Why Pi? Love is a circle. It’s irrational, inclusive, and infinite. And we’re delighted to add an affirming twist to International Pi Day celebrations on March 14.

Public: Being out and proud! LGBTQIA+ communities are often invisible, because of safety, and because of the assumption that everyone is cisgender or heterosexual.
Intentional: Being LGBTQIA+-­‐welcoming should always be an intentional act, not an afterthought or an easy assumption.

Explicit: Name us! There is a power in a name, especially when LGBTQIA+ names have for centuries been used as insults, and Two Spirit identities have been violently oppressed and suppressed by christianity and colonization.
